Crime Stoppers International is proud to be a supporter of the CNN Freedom Project
The UN’s Office on Drugs and Crime reports that human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. The United Nations also estimates that there are currently in excess of 30 million slaves worldwide and the total market value of human trafficking is estimated at $150 billion U.S. dollars. In Europe, criminals are pocketing around $2.5 billion per year through sexual exploitation and forced labor.
With a mission “to mobilize the world to report crime anonymously”, Crime Stoppers International is pleased to support the efforts of the CNN Freedom Project. Through this collaboration, as the global population becomes more sensitized about modern day slavery through the Freedom Project, it is hoped that there will be an increase in information about the perpetrators of this heinous crime or the whereabouts of victims. Individuals in possession of such information will be encouraged to use the anonymous and confidential mechanism which Crime Stoppers International provides. All reports made will be monitored by the Crime Stoppers Call Centre. Once the Call Centre is satisfied that the information received is actionable, it will be forwarded to global law enforcement.
